She passed away at the Fairview Manor on Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 28 days. She entered first grade in the Fairmont Public School in 1911, and graduated with the Class of 1924. Read More	Alice Maude Peters, daughter of Ernest Clayton and Mary Martha (Johns) Crooker was born at Enterprise, Whatcomb County, Washington on May 9, 1906. She passed away at the Fairview Manor on Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 28 days. She entered first grade in the Fairmont Public School in 1911, and graduated with the Class of 1924. She began working for the Lincoln Telephone Company in May of 1922, working part-time through the school years continuing until October of 1926. Alice was married to Raymond E. Peters on October 17, 1926. After the death of Raymond on April 26, 1931, Alice returned to work for the Lincoln Telephone Company in 1934 and she retired from the Lincoln Telephone Company on May 31, 1971. Her service record for the company was over 41 years. She was a member of the Fairmont Community Church, the Order of Eastern Star-Mt. Moriah Chapter No. 38, American Association of Retired Persons, and the Royal Neighbors. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents, Ernest and Mary; brothers, George, Warren and Frank; and a sister Ruth Spell. She is survived by a sister, Mae McMahon of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Ellen Crooker of Ketchikan, Alaska; brother-in-law, John Spell of Lincoln; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the Fairmont Community Church, Fairmont on Saturday, March 11, with Rev. Betsy Galloway-Carew officiating. Nancy Jo Galusha accompanied the congregation, who sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace." Casket bearers were Francis Jacobson, Wayne Stone, Buster Marget, Jerry Galusha, Steve Cantrell, and Robert D. Galusha. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
