For most of his life, Wayne worked as a welder, having been employed at Lennox Co-op, Koyker Manufacturing Company, Raven Industries, Harvey's Welding, and currently at Dakota Boring in Lennox. He was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Korslund, on Dec. 20, 1991; his paternal grandfather, Arthur A. Korslund; his maternal grandfather, Carl Jensen; and his paternal grandmother, Grace Westall. Survivors include his parents, Art and Edith Korslund of Lennox; one brother, Jeffrey Korslund of Sioux Falls; two sisters: Karen Bossman and her husband Paul of Lennox, and Wanda Korslund of Sioux Falls; his maternal grandmother, Esther Jensen of Yankton and his step-grandfather, Vern Westall of Madison.
