Description	:	Wayne E. Woodall, better known as "Woody" to his family and friends, was born July 15, 1918, at Manchester to John and Carrie (Madison) Woodall. He grew up in the Manchester and Iroquois area and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1936. As a young man, he worked for the Fischer and Greer Funeral Home and Hardware Store in Iroquois. Woodall, better known as "Woody" to his family and friends, was born July 15, 1918, at Manchester to John and Carrie (Madison) Woodall. He grew up in the Manchester and Iroquois area and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1936. As a young man, he worked for the Fischer and Greer Funeral Home and Hardware Store in Iroquois. Woody served in the U.S. Army in Graves Registration during World War II. He was united in marriage to Ruth Streeter on May 2, 1945, in Rochester, Minnesota. After graduating from College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1946, the couple made their home in Belle Fourche. He worked for Frost and Son Funeral Home in Belle Fourche for 17 years. While in Belle Fourche, he served on many boards and in many organizations, as well as being mayor of Belle Fourche for two years. In 1964, the couple moved to Philip, where they owned and operated W.E. Woodall Funeral Home. In 1967, they built the Kadoka Chapel, and in 1968, they purchased the funeral home in Wall. In 1970, they built the present funeral home in Wall. While in Philip, Woody served on the city council for 21 years and was active in many civic organizations as well as in church activities at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After retiring on January 1, 1985, the couple moved back to Belle Fourche, where they continued to reside. Woody was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #6275, American Legion Post #0032, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3312, and the Belle Fourche Country Club, all of Belle Fourche. He served on the museum board and airport board in Belle Fourche. He was a member of the South Dakota and Wyoming Funeral Directors Associations. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Viola Parks.
