Description	:	Wayne Harvey Berry was born on November 28, 1948 at Red Deer, Alberta. Son of: William Harvey Berry and Margaret Berry He married Kathryn Ann Mclean on December 15th, 1986. They had met while working at a gold mine at Wild Horse, near Fort Steel, British Columbia. They had no Children, but had numerous cats and dogs. Read More	Wayne Harvey Berry was born on November 28, 1948 at Red Deer, Alberta. Son of: William Harvey Berry and Margaret Berry He married Kathryn Ann Mclean on December 15th, 1986. They had met while working at a gold mine at Wild Horse, near Fort Steel, British Columbia. They had no Children, but had numerous cats and dogs. Wayne was educated in Red Deer and attended the Vocational School.He was always an outdoors person and loved hunting, fishing and trapping.In the spring time he would assist his uncle Alec Drolet, with his beaver trap line on the Blindman River at Blackfalls, Alberta. Wayne and Dale plus myself were always binging home all kinds of pets. I am not sure how we got away with it.We had the usual cats and dogs, but also; gophers, rabbits, salamanders, pigeons, bats and even an owl. Wayne “rescued” the owl from its nest that was a least 40 feet up a tree. He had to fight the mother owl off with one hand while climbing down the tree. Wayne and Dale got their picture in the Red Deer Advocate for rescuing and then releasing the owl. Back in the late 1950s and 1960s, Kin Canyon was our outdoor wild life playground. He worked for many years as a baker. The early morning hours and long shifts were gruelling. Wayne drove trucks for many years to support the family business.He worked many years for the Skocdopole Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator. He lived with his wife, Kathy at Spruceview for many years. He continued to trap and hunt with a bow and arrow whenever he could.Wayne and Kathy maintained a large garden, until poor health overcame him. After a lengthy battle against diabetic disease he passed away on December 3, 2013. His ashes are interned at the Raven Cemetery.
