Description	:	Wayne L. Foster, 65, residing in Seattle and a former long-time resident of Pateros, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999 in the Swedish Hospital at Ballard, following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 25, 1934, the son of William E. and Allie M. (Ball) Foster at Japton, AR. He attended school at Farrell's Creek in Arkansas. In 1953 he moved with his family to the Pateros area. He was born Jan. 25, 1934, the son of William E. and Allie M. (Ball) Foster at Japton, AR. He attended school at Farrell's Creek in Arkansas. In 1953 he moved with his family to the Pateros area. He joined the U.S. Army in August of 1953, serving in Company C 95th Engineer Bn at Camp Desert Rook, at Las Vegas, NV. He received the National Defense Service Medal. He was discharged in 1955. On May 27, 1956 he married Jean Robinson in Pateros. They lived in Pateros and had four children; Sonja, Tammy, Trina and Michael. In 1957 he became an iron worker with the Local #86 in Seattle. He worked on High Gorge, Rocky Reach, Wanapum, Wells, Rock Island and the Grand Coulee Dams in Washington State and Mica Creek Dam in Revelstoke, B.C. He worked on the construction of Alcoa, Kingdome, Columbia SeaFirst, Boeing and Scott Paper Company. Wayne was a member of the Church of Christ, the Pateros Fire Dept., Eagles, Grange, American Legion, and a 42-year member of Iron Worker Local #86. He is survived by his three daughters, Sonja McFee of Pateros, Tammy Hill of Twisp, Trina Zweigle of Pateros; a son, Michael Foster of Watsonville, CA; six grandchildren, Joel and Allie McFee, Christina, Chelsea and Dalton Hill, Kobie Zweigle; two brothers, Aldred Foster of Tonasket and Eldon Foster of Pateros; two sisters, Wilma Pennington of Tulsa, OK, and Yvonne Matthews of Brewster and a special friend, Wanda Winder and her children, Joe, Scott and Russ Kneeland, and Christina Strohm, all of Seattle. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, William and Allie Foster. Services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999 at 1 p.m. from the Barnes Chapel, Brewster. Committal service and interment will follow at the Pateros Cemetery with Military Rites by the Brewster American Legion Post #97. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. at Barnes Chapel. Services under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
