Description	:	Cemetery Book states she died at Alma, Nebraska. Her stone says "Weltha G. Banks". Sometimes Census/ marriage record will have spelling of "Wealtha" or "Wealthy". I have never seen a middle initial of "G" on any census, so I think the "G." on her stone is likely her maiden name Gilstrap. By 1870, she is a young widow with 5 children age 10 and under. By 1880, she is living in Seward, Nebraska, with her children. Her newly married daughter Amanda is living in the next household with husband Wesley Johnson. In... In 1900, the census shows her in Seward, Nebraska, Age: 61; Marital Status: Widowed; Relation to Head of House: Head; a Frank Mook, a servant, is in household; Her son, Arville, and wife are in next household on Census. In 1910, the census shows her still in Seward, Nebraska, Age: 72; Marital Status: Widowed; Relation to Head of House: Head; Living with a Charles E. Brady, 24, called "adopted son". I have no idea who this is. I wonder if he is not just another servant or helper. Information welcomed. Her obituary: "Wltha Gilstap Banks was born Jan. 12, 1839, near Salem, Ind. Was married to Geo. W. Banks on Sept. 9, 1858. To this union were born five children, three of whom are still living, Mrs. Amanda Johnson, of Wray, Colo.; Mrs. A. C. Rawls, of Lincoln, Neb., and A. G. Banks, of Alma, Neb. [handwritten on page is "Feb 1916] Her husband, Geo. W. Banks, died June 3 1869, since when she remained a widow. On Feb. 16, 1880, she with her children moved to Nebraska, near Lincoln. In 1907, she moved to Alma, Neb., where she died, Feb. 14, 1916. The deceased join with the Christian Church early in life and remained a faithful member until her death." "The body of Mrs. Banks was brought to Salem for interment--accompanied by her son, Oliver Banks, of Alma, Neb., and her daughter Mrs. Wesley Johnson, of Wray, Colorado. The funeral was held at home of her sister, Mrs. Wm. Standish, West Market street, Friday at noon, conducted by Rev. W. D. Bartle of the Christian church. The burial was at the Standish cemetery, near Livonia."
