Carder, Herbert Porter, Clyde Porter, Fred Schneider and Lloyd Borge of Plainview. Wendell W. Witwer, son of Wayne and Bula Witwer, was born Dec. 2, 1912, at Creighton. He was graduated from Creighton High School, and attended business college at Norfolk. He was united in marriage to Virginia Carbon at Norfolk on Nov. 2, 1946. For the past 10 years, the couple have resided in Grand Island. Mr. Witwer was a veteran of World War II. He enlisted at Fort Crook on April 25, 1942, and was discharged in Jan. 11, 1946, as a staff sergeant at Randolph Field, Tex. He was employed at the Norfolk Livestock Company before moving to Grand Island where he became Chief line superintendent at C. O. P. plant. The past few years he owned and operated Club Line 5 at the Palmer Hotel in Grand Island. He was a member of the Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1347. He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Grand Island; one son, Mickey; two stepsons, Winston and Kerry; his mother, Mrs. Bula Witwer of Grand Island; four sisters, Mrs. M. W. Meikle of Creighton, Mrs. R. D. Phillips of Manitou Springs, Colo., Mrs. Eugene Classen of Lincoln and Mrs. Wm. Seaman of Minneapolis, Minn. His father preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 1950."
