Read More	Werner John Hoops, 86, Byron, died Nov. 4, 1991, at Republic County Hospital. He was born March 4,1905, to John and Johanna Grueber Hoops at Byron. March 19, 1905, he was baptized at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Byron, and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Byron, in 1919. He completed 8 years of elementary school near Byron. He was united in marriage to Alma Fangmeyer, Byron, Sept. 1, 1927, at St. John Lutheran Church, Byron. To this union five children were born; Victor, Harold, Harvey, Marilyn and Betty. Dec. 28,1968, he was united in marriage to Alvina Gebers Flathman at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester. He was a Byron area farmer until retiring in the early 1970s. A member of St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, served as a church deacon, was a Lions Club member and took an active part in establishing a mission church in Prescott Valley, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma, and an infant son, Harold, his parents, John and Johanna Hoops, two brothers, Arnold Hoops and Rudolph Hoops, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Peters (Edna). Survivors include his wife, Alvina, Byron, two sons, Victor, Arvada, Colo., Harvey, Byron, and two daughters, Mrs. Willis Kettelhut (Marilyn), Deshler, and Mrs. Robert Press (Betty), Niarobi, Kenya. Also surviving are one stepson, Wayne Flathman, Shickley, and four step-daughters, Mrs. Ervin Fangmeyer (JoAnn), Deshler, Mrs. Roland Doering (Norma), Hardy, Mrs. Scott Eitzmann(Connie), Hardy, and Mrs, Bruce Garrels (Kay), Wichita; two sisters, Leona Ludwig, Deshler, Mrs. Art Theime(Lorrine), Federal Way, Wash., one brother-in-law, Henry Peters, Byron; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Hoops, Superior, Marie Hergott, Parkview Haven, Deshler; 10 grandchildren, 19 step-grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, with Pastor William Larsen officiating. Pastor Walter Laughlin of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiated at the interment, St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Byron. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
