(b. 1853, OH), Leonard (b.1856, d.1856, IA), Rachel A. (b. 1859 IA), Emma A. (b. 1865, d. 1866), Mary (May) Augusta (b. 1869, Holt, IA), and Gilbert R (b. 1873, IA). Wesley married Mary F. Howard Oct.16, 1863, in Lehigh, IA., and they had children Wesley E. (1884), Cecil B. (1885), Annie F. (1888), Nonnie E. (1890), and Orvil R. (1892), all born in Webster Co., IA. In 1895 the family lived in Pilot Mound, Boone Co., IA, where Wesley was employed as a drayman, and was a member of the United Brethren. At the time that the Great Northern Railway was laying track to Freeport, WA, Wesley, along with his sisters Jennie Stephens (then widowed, with four grown sons), and May Storts and her husband, Eli, moved to the forested lands of northeastern Washington. For a time, Wesley was a rancher in Ione, Pend Oreille County. By 1910, at age 53, he was living in Cronin Precinct, Stevens Co., WA, with his widowed mother, Eliza, age 77. He filed a land claim in 1912, adjacent to his two sisters, near Aladdin, WA. In September of 1912, Wesley moved to Spokane, with his mother, where he was employed in construction work by the Milwaukee road. In October he was stricken suddenly with a rare infection which resulted in thrombosis of the mesenteric artery, and he succumbed within a few days, under treatment at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. A son from Boone Co., IA, and a daughter from Three Forks, MT arrived shortly after his death. He was removed to Boone, IA, where he was interred in Bass Point Cemetery.
