Interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic). OBITUARY Wesley Eugene Mitchell was born April 3, 1874 at Tarkio, Mo. His parents were Joseph and Mary Mitchell. Upon Coming to this vicinity, he first resided near Byron. On February 24, 1897 he was united in marriage with Miss Nantke Trauernicht. This union was blessed with eleven children, two of whom preceded the father in death. Upon Coming to this vicinity, he first resided near Byron. On February 24, 1897 he was united in marriage with Miss Nantke Trauernicht. This union was blessed with eleven children, two of whom preceded the father in death. The deceased with his family resided at various places near Chester and for awhile resided in Colorado. Tor the past three years he resided four miles southeast of Chester. He began to fail in health about four weeks ago. April 27th he entered the Patterson Memorial Hospital, but soon returned home somewhat relieved from his distress. May 3rd he was forced to return to the hospital and remained there until his death, Wednesday morning, May 15th, at one o'clock, at the age of 61 years,1 month and 12 days. His death is mourned by his widow, nine children: Mrs. Blanche Davenport, Mrs. Grace Rieke, Alice and Kathryn of Chester; Mrs. Pearl Harmes (sic) of Sidney; Joseph Mitchell of Hastings, Walter Mitchell of Hildreth; Mrs. Dorothy Heidbrink of Deshler; and Mrs. Mildred Siemers of Bronson; five sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; mother-in-law, Mrs. Trauernicht; two brothers, Harry Mitchell of Denver and Perry Mitchell of Albany, Ore.,; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Longpine of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Josie Michelson of Long Beach, Cal., twenty-one grandchildren and other relatives and friends. =================================================== The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, May 30, 1935; pg. 4 Wesley Eugene Mitchell, son of Joseph and Mary Mitchell, was born April 3, 1874, at Tarkio, Mo., and died at a hospital in Belleville, May 15, 1935, at the age of 61 years, 1 month, and 12 days, following a month's illness.
