He was in failing health for the past 11 years and critically ill for the past two months. He was a resident of the home since Aug. 17, 1988. Read More	OBITUARY : WILBUR CLAIR TROSTLE, 77, of 14529 Pennersville Road, Cascade, Md., died Sunday, June 3, in the Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg. He was in failing health for the past 11 years and critically ill for the past two months. He was a resident of the home since Aug. 17, 1988. Born Dec. 22, 1912, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Lawrence W. and Helen E. Currens Trostle. He lived his early life in the Gettysburg area, moving in the Cascade area in 1931. He and his wife, Mrs. Mary George Shindledecker Trostle were married Oct. 1934 and lived at their present residence for the past 33 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In his early life, he was employed at Leiter Brothers Clothing Store in Waynesboro and later was assistant manager with J.J. Newberry's Corp. From 1946 until 1956, he and his wife operated a grocery store in Cascade. Prior to his retirement in Jan. 1975, he was employed by the Washington County, Md., school system in the Cascade School as a head custodian for 25 years. He was a member of the Germantown, Md., Church of God where he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent, lifetime elder, and a member of the Men's Bible Sunday School class. He also was a member of the national AARP. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Patricia A. Almond of Frederick, Md., Mrs. Clarita M. O'Leary of Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. Pamela J. Jordon of Fort Huachuca, Arizona; three sons, Ronald L. Trostle of Clarksville, Md., B. Neal Trostle of Blue Ridge Summit, and Stephen A. Trostle of Waynesboro; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Theda T. Lund of Thiells, N.Y.; two brothers, Byron M. Trostle of Bothell, Wash., and John H. Trostle of Waynesboro. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Germantown Church of God with the Rev. Paul Tobias officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Germantown Church of God Building Fund, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, Md., 21719.
