Wilbur is survived by his daughter, Pam and her husband, Dan; two grandchildren, Amy (Corey) and Katherine (Brian); great-grandchildren, Isabella, Sawyer, Penelope, and Ridley; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan “Jo”; son, Todd Ohlsen; his parents, Harry and Hattie (Alderson) Ohlsen; sister, Edna Grove; and brother, Paul Ohlsen. Wilbur Harry Ohlsen was born June 15, 1930 at Schaller, Iowa. He graduated from Schaller High School, with the Class of 1948. On July 20, 1952, Wilbur was united in marriage to Joan Meinking at Newell, Iowa. In 1953, Wilbur served in the United States Army until 1955, when he transferred to the Army Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1961. In 1956, they established their home in Rockwell City, where Wilbur sold seed and milled grain until his retirement. Wilbur also drove school bus for over 30 years. Jo passed away in 2014. Wilbur made his home at Sunnyview Independent Living before later moving to Ames to be near his family. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran & Presbyterian Church.
