Description	:	PERSIA - Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Latter Day Saints church for Wilbur R. Willard, 72, former resident and retired merchant, who died Monday morning of a heart attack at the home of his son, Wilbur in Waterloo. The services were conducted by the Rev. H. G. Ritzen of St. John’s Lutheran church of Dunlap, and burial was in Valley View with Becker’s Funeral Home in charge. Wilbur R. Willard, youngest son of John and Elizabeth Willard, was born in Mills county. He moved with his parents to Harrison County in 1882 where the family resided on a farm west of Persia. On Sept. 21, 1904, he was married to Marie Kahout, who preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1943. For a number of years Mr. Willard was associated with his brothers in the Willard store in Persia. Between the years 1919 and 1932 the family home was at Ainsworth, Neb. From that time until 1943 they were again in Persia. After the death of his wife, Mr. Willard made his home with his son, Wilbur and family, in Waterloo, Ia. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Martha Mendenhall and Mrs. Mame Tuttle of Logan; two sons, Leslie of Pines Bluffs, Wyo., and Wilbur, Jr. in the U.S. Navy; one daughter, Ruth of Iowa City; and two grandchildren.
