Description	:	Wilbur Anderson, the son of Samuel and Mary (Jenkins) Anderson, was born on his parents' farm near Rippey on April 15, 1906. He passed away October 6 at the Jefferson Manor in Jefferson. Wilbur was 78 years old and a longtime Greene County resident. Wilbur spent his childhood year on the farm, and at the age of 14, he moved with his family to Paton. He attended school at Rippey and Paton, graduating from Paton High School in 1925. Read More	Wilbur Anderson, the son of Samuel and Mary (Jenkins) Anderson, was born on his parents' farm near Rippey on April 15, 1906. He passed away October 6 at the Jefferson Manor in Jefferson. Wilbur was 78 years old and a longtime Greene County resident. Wilbur spent his childhood year on the farm, and at the age of 14, he moved with his family to Paton. He attended school at Rippey and Paton, graduating from Paton High School in 1925. On September 6, 1933, Wilbur was united in marriage to Hazel Thomsen at her parents' home in Paton. To this union four children were born: Donna (Frank) Light, Dennis, Karen (Robert) Meyer and Darrel who died in infancy. Following their marriage, the couple engaged in farming in the Paton area until his retirements in 1971. A special highlight was celebrating Wilbur and Hazel's 50th wedding anniversary in September 1983. Many friends and relatives attended. Wilbur attended Salem United Methodist Church in Paton. Survivors include his wife, three children, 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother: Charles of California, and three sisters: Nellie Mengel of Paton, Bertha Hendershott of Ogden and Bernice Thomsen of Paton. Those who preceded him in death include his parents; son, brothers: Lester, Roy and Louis; sisters Sadie and Mabel, and two grandchildren: Sarah Meyer and Jeffrey Anderson. Doyle Carlson was soloist with Mrs. Darlene Evans as organist. Casket bearers were six of Wilbur's grandsons: Michael Anderson, Alan Anderson, Dwight Light, Bruce Light, Mark Light and Philip Meyer.
