She was removed to her daughter's home in Norfolk, and had been there continuously until her death. As Miss Minnie Phillipps, the daughter of Louis and Eliza Phillipps, she was born in Columbus, Aug. 4, 1860, and attended the local schools and grew to womanhood here. Her marriage to Mr. Plath took place in Columbus April 14, 1883. she was widely known among the pioneer residents of this community. Mrs. Plath was a devout member of the Evangelical Protestant church here. Surviving are her husband who resides with their only son, Fred L. Plath at Fremont; a daughter, Mrs. Carter; two brothers, Julius C. Phillipps of Burwell (NE), and H. A. Phillipps of Columbus, and a sister, Mrs. Rowena F. Dodds of Seattle, Wash. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Gass Funeral Home...Burial will be made in Columbus cemetery. The body will be brought here Thursday morning from Norfolk. Her son, Fred L. Plath, and her husband were here this afternoon to complete the funeral arrangements.
