Read More	Mrs. Henning Dies Suddenly Yields to Attack of Heart Trouble After Sickness of Only One Hour Mrs. Gottfried Henning, mother of Charter Oak's furniture dealer, herself an old resident of the town, died Sunday night about 11:00 after a sickness of less than an hour. She has for years been subject to attacks of heart trouble, each one coming a little harder than the one before, but each time recovering. She was taken with one of these Sunday evening about ten o'clock, and before eleven she had crossed the bar into her last port. Mrs. Wilhelmina Albertina Henning, nee Jahn, was born Aug. 4, 1847, in Pomerania, Germany. She came to America in 1872 and settled in Chicago, where she was married to Gottfried Henning Oct. 13, 1872, in 1873 the came to Crawford County and settled on a farm about five miles east of where Charter Oak now is. About Seventeen years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Henning moved to Charter Oak. Mr. Henning died about fifteen years ago. Mrs. Henning leaves a family of four sons and four daughters. One son, Gustav, died some years ago at Sioux Falls, S. D. The sons are William, Carl, Frank, and John. Frank is one of te (sic) substantial farmers of the Charter Oak area, while John ahs the furniture store in Charter Oak. The four daughters are Mrs. Minna Tech, Mrs. Martha Dorale, Mrs. Emma Harnish, and Miss Anna Henning, the latter living at home with her mother in Charter Oak. Besides these, Mrs. Henning leaves one brother and 33 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. Amstein, in St. John's Lutheran church, this afternoon, and interment was made in Hanover cemetery. Mrs. Henning was a kind mother, a good neighbor, and a faithful member of her church.
