The deceased came to Maryborough in the ship "Herschel" in the year 1874. with her husband, the late Mr Lassig who died about 29 years ago as the result of injuries received in a vehicuhlar accident. They were amongst the early pioneer settlers on the Island Plantation, and were prominently associated with the early history of the Baptist Church in Maryborough. The late Mrs Lassig who had reached the venerable age of 87 years and 11 months, accidentally fell off a verandah about a week ago and sustained a fractured thigh an injury from which she was destined not to recover. The deceased is survived by five daughters and three sons, who will have the deep sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereave- ment. The family comprises Mesdames W Rudolph, G Bauar, J Rose (Maryborough), E P C Wissman (Bundaberg), C Hamann (Bootharh, Childers LIne) and Messrs H and W Lassig (Bundaberg) and F Lassig (Island Plantation). There are also 52 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. The funeral will leave the residence of deceased's daughter, Mrs. W. Rudolph, Albert street, at 2,30 o'clock this afternoon. FUNERAL OF THE LATE MRS. LASSIG. The funeral of the late Mrs. Wilhelmina Dorethea Lassig, which moved from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. Rudolph, Albert street, on Saturday afternoon, was largely attended by relatives and city and Plantation Island friends. Numerous wreaths were sent by sympathising friends. The pall-bearers from the residence to the hearse were Messrs. E. Bauer, J. Rose, W. Rudolph, and H. Jensen, and from the hearse to the graveside, Messrs. W. Bauer, G. Bauer, Alf. Rudolph, and F. Lassig. The remains were laid to rest with those of her late husband. The Rev. R. Stewards officiated at the house and graveside.
