She had been very seriously ill at the home of her son, Albert, south of town for several months. She fought a hard battle for life, almost knowing it was useless, until her tired and weakened soul was taken. She had been very seriously ill at the home of her son, Albert, south of town for several months. She fought a hard battle for life, almost knowing it was useless, until her tired and weakened soul was taken. She has lived in Blue Hill for many years and has many old time friends who mourn her going. She was seventy-six years and twenty-one days old at the time of her death. Funeral services were held at the St. Paul Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock and the remains laid to rest in the Blue Hill Cemetery. Blue Hill Leader 2 Nov 1923 Items Page DIED On Sunday, October 28th, after a long and painful illness, Mrs Wilhelmine Magarin, widow of the late Wilhelm Magarin died at the home of her son, Albert Magarin, southwest of Blue Hill. Mrs Magarin was born in Bradenburg, Germany, Oct. 7, 1847. Died Oct 28, 1923, aged 76 years, 21 days. She came to this country and settled in Chicago in 1868 when a year after Nov. 7th, 1869 she was married to Mr Magarin. From there the family moved to Blue Hill in 1883, setting on their farm southwest of the city where she has lived until 1916, when she retired from the farm and moved to Blue Hill. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and society. Her marriage was blessed with 8 children, five sons and three daughters and seven grandchildren. The three daughters have preceded her in death. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all their large circle of friends in their sorrow on account of the loss of their beloved mother.
