| Description | : | Wilhelmina was born in Tessin, Mecklenburg, Germany, the daughter of Magdalena Sophia Johanna Hoth Drefahl and Ernst Drefahl. She married Henry Groth on June 29, 1860, and the couple came to America aboard the Hammonia, arriving in New York in late 1869. They settled initially in Iowa but in 1888 moved to East Mill Plain, Washington. She bore seven children in Germany and eight in America, though four were stillborn or died very young.
