On Saturday, Nov 13, Louise Dukes, one of Glen William's oldest and most repected residents, passed suddenly away at the home of her daughter, Mrs W.H. Mullin. She was born 73 years ago in Europe, but came to Canada about 53 years ago with her husband, the late Wm. Dedrick, to whom she had been recently married. They settled in Georgetown and resided there for some years before removing to Glen Williams. Deceased's husband died about 40 years ago, leaving four children still living. They are; William Dedrick, Orangeville; Charles of Grand Valley; Mrs W.H. Mullin and Mrs D. Thompson of Deckerville, Mich. Deceased remarried some years later to, Thomas Dukes, who also predeceased her. This marriage was blest by the birth of two children; Mrs Gordon Kirby of Glen Williams and Fred Dukes of Yorktown, Sask. Deceased had been nearly a life-long member of the Church of England. She was always an industrious woman and a kind and loving mother. Less than an hour previous to her death she had been knitting socks for the soldiers with an easy speed remarkable for her age.
