She was 32 at the birth of her first child and 43 at the birth of her last. According to some family stories, Minnie ruled the roost. She was a strong woman who had faced hardships and was not afraid to face them again. Minnie died in Defiance County, Ohio. Many other members of her family are also buried in the same cemetery. Obituary, Hicksville Newspaper A Noble Woman Gone --------------------- Willamena Abel was born in Germany August 31, 1828. She emigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was married to August Strübing on their farm south of Hicksville in 1864. She died last Thursday morning after a short Illness and was burried Sunday in the Hicksville cemetery. Her husband, Mr August Strübing, is very ill and on his account a pathetic service in German was held at the house by the Rev. Geo. Harter in the early morning before the family and a number of friends and, at 10:30 services at the Lutheran church.
