They were the parents of Joseph, Bernadina, Anna, Mary, Frederick, and Catherine. They were the parents of Joseph, Bernadina, Anna, Mary, Frederick, and Catherine. June 2, 1910 - Carroll Times - On last Thursday of the foregoing week, May 26th, occurred the funeral of the late Mrs. Frank Daloff. A large concourse of relatives and friends were present at the solemn requiem high mass held at SS. Peter and Paul's church of this city, at 10 o'clock. The requiem mass was chanted by the Rev. Father Schleuter, of Stacyville, Iowa, he was assisted by Rev. Father H. Muestermann, of Eddyville, Nebr, as deacon, and Rev. Father Caspar Jungemann, of Alta Vista, Iowa, as sub-deacon, Father Wessling performing the duties of master of ceremonies. The three first named Fathers are cousins of Mr. Dalhoff. Rev. Henry Felder, D.D., of Cathrine, Iowa, brother of the deceased, was unable to be present on occount of an accident. After the solemn requiem the absolution, "ad tumbam," was spoken by the celebrant, after which the body of a dear wife and mother was conveyed to the SS. Peter and Paul's cemetery. At the grave Father Jungemann officiated, blessing the grave and speaking the last prayers of the church over the remains. At the grave were left to mourn the death of a kind wife and loving mother, the husband and the following children: Joseph, a student of philosophy at St. Joseph's college, Dubuque, Iowa; Bernadina, Anna, Mary, Frederick and Catherine. Other children were born to his happy union, preceding their mother to a happy eternity, awaitng the time when they should again be united with their mother. Some relatives from a distance were present: Mrs. P. Felder of Guttenberg, mother of the deceased; August Felder and wife, of Ionia, Iowa; Henry Felder, of Whittimore, Iowa, and Bernadina Dalhoff, of Remsen, Iowa. Many other relatives and friends from the neighboring towns and vicinity were present to pay their last respect to one whom all loved and honored. Wilhelmina Dalhoff was born on the 28th day of August, 1864, in Happerschoss, near Cologne. At an early age she came with her parents to this country, and on July 24th, 1890, she pledged her love and affections to Mr. Frank Dalhoff, whom, on that day, she wedded at S. Catherine, Iowa. Father Jos. Schleuter, officiated at their marriage. Mrs. Frank Dalhoff was a sincere and lovng wife and a dear self-sacrificing mother, which won for her not only the hearts and affections of her husband and children, but the love, esteem and confidence of all who knew her. She was a devout and fervent Catholic, a member of the Ladies sodality and of the confraternity of the holy rosary, the members of said societies being present at the funeral in a body. The cause of death was probably due to blood poisoning, caused by eating canned salmon. Others of the family also took sick, but they being healthy it had no serious consequences, but the mother, having been for some time in ill health, fell an easy prey to the deadly poison.
