She was born January 14, 1925 in West Grove, IA to Clark and Bessie Sprouse Hufford. She married William F. Howell January 9, 1943 and he preceded her in death February 19, 2007. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she worked in the cafeteria at Evans Junior High School and at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a member of Willard Street United Methodist Church and Good Sams. She was born January 14, 1925 in West Grove, IA to Clark and Bessie Sprouse Hufford. She married William F. Howell January 9, 1943 and he preceded her in death February 19, 2007. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she worked in the cafeteria at Evans Junior High School and at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a member of Willard Street United Methodist Church and Good Sams. Surviving are four daughters, Connie (Jack) Crowder of Fremont, Dana (Jim) Parrish of Ottumwa, Debbie (Short) Overturf of Camdenton, MO Pam (Dennis) Harness of Brazil, IN; a son, Randy Howell of Ottumwa; a son-in-law, Randy Monohon of Ottumwa; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Kay Melvin of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry William Howell; two daughters, Patty Monohon and Sharon Lorton; five sisters, Betty Francis, Joann Hepker, Wynona Gingrich, LaVonne Gray and Mary Kerby; and her dog, Molly. Visitation will open after 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25th at Reece Funeral Home with her family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 26th at Shaul Cemetery with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to Care Initiatives Hospice in Albia.
