Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen, with the Rev. Walt Wolff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was raised and educated in the Beulah area. On Dec. 14, 1952, he married Irene Mittelsteadt at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen. He worked for Hanewald and Bentley grocery stores before starting a farming career in 1950, just northwest of Hazen. He farmed in the Pleasant Valley area from 1960 to 1993, when he moved to Hazen. Willard was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Hazen. Some of Willard's favorite pastimes were reading and taking walks. He is survived by his wife, Irene, Hazen; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bill and Char, Gerald and Mark and Doreen, all of Hazen; one brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Sharon, Nampa, Idaho; one sister and brother-in-law, Lenora and Hubert Hafner, Beulah; six granddaughters, Amy (Darrin) Huston, Holly and Kristy, all of Bismarck, and Jordan, Courtney and Erin, all of Hazen; and two great-grandsons, Zachary and Dylan Schutt, Bismarck. Willard was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Allen; and two brothers, Wilbert and Gordon. (Barbot-Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)
