Description	:	A telegram was received in this city Friday afternoon that caused a shock to our people. It announced that William A. Billmire had attempted suicide at Kenova, West Virginia. He was shaving himself and cut his throat with a razor. Mr. Billmire had been out of work for some time and it was thought that he became afflicted with melancholia. Read More	A telegram was received in this city Friday afternoon that caused a shock to our people. It announced that William A. Billmire had attempted suicide at Kenova, West Virginia. He was shaving himself and cut his throat with a razor. Mr. Billmire had been out of work for some time and it was thought that he became afflicted with melancholia. That evening word was received that he was dead. The remains were shipped to this city for interment and arrived on No. 5 Monday evening. They were accompanied by two of his brothers and a sister. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from the residence of G.A. Billmire, 522 Linn street. Rev. W.V. Brown of the Presbyterian church officiated and the remains were laid to rest in Linwood cemetery. The deceased was thirty three years of age and married his wife being at Garrett, Indiana. Formerly he was an engineer on the Northwestern residing in this city. Of late he has been running on the Roanoke & Western railway but was out of employment when he died. Besides a wife, father and mother, Mr. Billmire leaves four brothers George, John, Millard and Harry, and three sisters, Mrs. Grosh of Streeter Ill., and Misses Mame and Sadie of this city. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow. Later developments showed that the suicide theory was false and indications point to foul play.
