He died Wednesday morning, April 9, 1986 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, eight months, and eight days. William spent his early years on his family's farm in Goodrich Township and later moved with them to a farm in Hanover Township. Boyens was born on August 1, 1908 in Goodrich Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the son of Hans and Mary Johannsen Boyens. He died Wednesday morning, April 9, 1986 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, eight months, and eight days. William spent his early years on his family's farm in Goodrich Township and later moved with them to a farm in Hanover Township. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. He received his formal education at the Zion Lutheran School. William was united in marriage to Elise Hildebrandt on February 11, 1931 at the Zion Lutheran parsonage by Rev. William Frese. They made their home on a farm near Buck Grove where they lived for six years. In 1937 they made their home in Denison where William owned and operated a trucking company. for twenty years. They later owned and operated Sandbar Beach Resort at Spirit Lake for twelve years. It was during this time that William also worked part time during the winter months as a maintenance man at Jo-Mart Steak House. William was also known for the construction work he did in the Denison area. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Herman. Survivors include his wife Elise of Denison, one sister Minnie Schwitzer and brother-in-law Rudolph of Denison. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Emil Hildebrandt of Denison and three sisters-in-law, Ella Eggert and Minnie Boyens of Denison, and Florence Hildebrandt of Charter Oak, as well as a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
