In infancy he was baptized on June 1, 1884 by Rev. Kipple, and soon after moved to Concordia, Missouri with his parents. In infancy he was baptized on June 1, 1884 by Rev. Kipple, and soon after moved to Concordia, Missouri with his parents. He renewed his baptismal vows by the rite of confirmation on April 3, 1898 by the Rev. F. Blitz. Here he also received his education in St. Paul’s Lutheran High School. He was joined in marriage to Viola Anna Alvina Smith on November 25, 1928. This union was blessed with 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter. For a number of years he lived on a farm with his parents near Concordia, Missouri. He returned to a farm in Hamilton County, Nebraska in 1906 and lived there until March 1957, when he retired in Polk. Mr. Ziegelbein served as chairman of Immanuel Lutheran Church and also served a term on the school board. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Viola of Polk, three sons, Kenneth of Polk, Charles of Lincoln and Allen of Curtis; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Wright of Lincoln; two brothers, Arthur and Edgar of Elgin, Ilinois, two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Wunderlich of Elgin, Illinois and Mrs. C.J. Pyne of Berwyn, Ill.; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. “When at last I near the shore, and the fearful breakers roar, Twixt me a peaceful rest, then while leaning on Thy breast, May I hear Thee say to me, Fear no, I will pilot thee,” Funeral services were held Thursday, April 19, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church southwest of Polk. Interment was in Immanuel cemetery. Rev. Marvin Gruett officiated at the service. Music was furnished by a male quartet who sang, “Jerusalem, Thou City Fair and High” and “Abide with Me”, accompanied by Miss Jeanelle Smith at the organ. Pallbearers were Milfred Johnson, Edmund Klingsporn, Ewald Klingsporn, Ervin Light, Floyd Lyle and Clarence Rahrs.
