William McMahon, 79, Rt. 2, West Liberty. died at 4:30 a. m. today at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, after a brief illness. Mr. McMahon was a life resident of the West Liberty community, and was well known as a breeder of Chester White hogs for some 60 years. He was born Oct. 31,. 1886, at West Liberty, the son of John and Clara Marklay McMahon. He was married Sept. 7, 1910, at Tipton, to Ola Hankins. Mr. McMahon. was a member of the Presbyterian church at West Liberty. Surviving are the widow; one son, Arthur McMahon, West Liberty; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Bertha) Harbaugh of Muscatine, Mrs. Melvin (Marguerite) Sizemore, and Mrs. Inez James, both of Mesa, Arizona; two brothers. Ward of Muscatine, and Alvin of Tacorna, Wash.; 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and a daughter. The body is now at the Snider funeral home, West Liberty, where friends may begin calling this evening. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the West Liberty Presbyterian church, with Rev. Robert Reynolds officiating. Interment will be at Oakridge cemetery. -AND The Muscatine Journal (Muscatine, Iowa) April 23, 1966 (Saturday) Page 10, Column 8. WILLIAM A. McMAHON. WEST LIBERTY. Funeral services for William A. McMahon, 79, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 22 in the West Liberty Presbyterian church with Rev. Robert Reynolds officiating. Mrs. Geneva Campbell was the organist. Ushers were Robert Buckman and Vernon Ross. Pallbearers were Otto Nealson, Lowell Rockafellow, Edgar Hildebrand, Warren Mclntire, Charles Morgan, and William Hoben. Interment was at Oakridge cemetery. Mr. McMahon died Tuesday [April 19] at Mercy hospital, Iowa City.
