Description	:	William "Bill" Allen Walter, 67, of Findlay died September 19, 2015 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. Bill was born in Wyandot County on September 30, 1947 to Lewis W. and Dorothy (Parker) Walter. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Carey. Bill married Elaine Hauman on September 14, 1974 and she survives along with their children, Melanie Walter (David Collins) of Findlay, Mark Walter (Melissa Herzog-Walter) of Middleport, Ohio, Lori (Luke) Henness of Fairfield Township, Ohio and three grandchildren, Layla Marie Walter, Bailey Oldaker and Aidan Collins. Bill was born in Wyandot County on September 30, 1947 to Lewis W. and Dorothy (Parker) Walter. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Carey. Bill married Elaine Hauman on September 14, 1974 and she survives along with their children, Melanie Walter (David Collins) of Findlay, Mark Walter (Melissa Herzog-Walter) of Middleport, Ohio, Lori (Luke) Henness of Fairfield Township, Ohio and three grandchildren, Layla Marie Walter, Bailey Oldaker and Aidan Collins. Also surviving are three brothers, Henry Walter of Fremont, Ohio, David Walter of Carey, Ohio, Michael (Jane) Walter also of Carey, Ohio, two sisters, Joyce (Brian) Beckwith of Findlay, and Judy (Daniel) Fox of Kirby, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Walter. He was a 1965 graduate of Riverdale High School, and a 1972 graduate of Findlay College where he received a degree in Biology. Bill was formerly employed by Nash Finch grocery warehouse where he worked in store development, and retired from Advantage Sales and Marketing as a food broker. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 West Bigelow Avenue, where he served on Church Council and was a member of the Property Committee. Other memberships included Findlay Lodge 227 F.&A.M.; O.E.S # 23 where he was Past Patron, and NWO Antique Machinery Association, where he was a Trustee. Bill was a liver transplant recipient 6 years ago in 2009. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Blanchard Valley Hospital, The Cleveland Clinic, and the Creighton Dialysis Center for their support and care during Bill's many years of illness. Visitation will be held at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME from 2-8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 22, and also for one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the church. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the church with Pastor Tom Lyberg officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Bloom Cemetery near Vanlue, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 935 West Bigelow Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840, or to Donate Life Ohio at donatelifeohio.org.
