They were the parents of Amelia, Alois (Blondina), William J, Lawrence A, Margaret (Albert Wiederin), Andrew P (1895), Jennie, Edmund Peter, Julia (Les Hoffman), and Clara. Carroll Daily Herald - Monday, April 30, 1934 - Mr. and Mrs. William A. Miller were feted at an all day celebration yesterday at their home on Walnut street, in honor of their golden wedding anniversary. The honored couple renewed their marriage vows at Ss. Peter and Paul's church at 8 o'clock. The bridal party approached the altar to the strains of Mendelssohn Wedding March played by Sister M. Louisa Ann. Leading the party was Clara Riesburg, daughter of the couple's oldest daughter, who served as ring bearer carrying the satin pillow. She was followed by Bernice Miller, daughter of Edmund and Theresa Miller daughter of Alois Miller, the flower girl. Cornelius and Francis Miller served as the principal acolytes and Frederick Halbig and Leonad Jensen, neighbor boys, were also mass servers. All the children of Mr. and Mrs. Miller attended the nuptial high mass which was read by the Rev. Father Lambert Schenkelberg. They also received communion with their parents. William A. Miller was born in Woodford county, Roanoke, IL., May 19, 1862. Theresa Valentine was born Aug. 25, 1863, in Maclean county, Lexington, IL. When she was 8 years old she moved with her parents to a farm near Metamora, IL. Mr. Miller and Miss Valentine were united in marriage April 29 1884, at St. Mary's church at Matamora, IL. They moved to Plymouth county, Remsen, Ia., in 1890, where they farmed until February, 1898, when they moved to Carroll county, near Roselle. In February 1920, they located on a farm three miles west of Carroll, now on the new Lincoln Highway and after living there for ten years moved Feb. 4, 1930, to their present home on Walnut street. They are the parents of ten children all of whom were with them yesterday. They are Mrs. Ben Riesburg (Amelia) of Roselle; Alois of Carroll, William of Breda, Lawrence of Carroll, Mrs. Albert Wiederin (Margaret) of Carroll, Andrew of Carroll, Mrs. Charles Bellinghausen (Jennie) of Halbur, Edmund of Carroll, Mrs. Leo J Hoffman (Julia) of Glidden, and Mrs. Clem Renze (Clare) at home.
