Surviving are his wife, Leona; a son, Richard Darrah, Ottumwa, and his mother, Mrs. Anna Chase, Ottumwa. The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of arrangements. “DARRAH SERVICES,” From “Ottumwa Courier,” February 6, 1948: Funeral services for William A. (Art) Darrah of 340 Johnson street who died Thursday morning at the Ottumwa hospital will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. Donald H. Gill of the First Christian church will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be the following school custodians: Hubert Park, Paul Matthews, Ernest Leonard, Ernest Wilkinson, Marvin Steele and Jesse Walden.
