Description	:	PVT US ARMY. World War I GROTON - Services for William A. Rossow, 88, Stratford, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Groton with the Rev. Leonard Fox officiating. Burial will be in the West Rondell Cemetery at Stratford, with graveside rites performed by the American Legion Post 207. Arrangements are under the direction of Paetznick- Garness Funeral Chapel of Groton. Mr. Rossow died after an extended illness Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the Bethesda Home in Aberdeen. Casketbearers will be Gary Kliegel, Glen Kliegel, Daniel Meseberg, David Meseberg, Richard Rossow and Ray Yuill. Organist will be Stacy Broman and soloist is Patti Anderson. All his friends will be honorary Casketbearers. William Rossow was born Oct. 17, 1894, at Stratford. He attended Rondell 27-2 school in the Rondell Township. He retired from farming in the 1950's. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was active in baseball and managed the Stratford legion team several years and coached the Stratford baseball team. He was a resident of the Stratford area all his life and resided on the original family homestead. He was a 65-year member of the Stratford American Legion Post 207. [He enjoyed all the kitties at the farm and at different times had a pet racoon and a pet fox, briefly.] Survivors include two brothers, Adolph, Stratford; and Louis, Whitewood; six nieces and nephews.
