Hendrickson died at his residence in Middletown, leaving a widow and two children, grown up, and a multitude of friends who mourn their parting with a man whose liberal and generous nature made him known and beloved throughout the whole of the county. Mr. Hendrickson was a grandson of Daniel Hendrickson, a Revolutionary soldier. Daniel D. Hendrickson, William B. Hendrickson's sire, was, as his father before him, imbued with patriotism and was captain of the largest company raised in the county in the war of 1812. Hendrickson died at his residence in Middletown, leaving a widow and two children, grown up, and a multitude of friends who mourn their parting with a man whose liberal and generous nature made him known and beloved throughout the whole of the county. Mr. Hendrickson was a grandson of Daniel Hendrickson, a Revolutionary soldier. Daniel D. Hendrickson, William B. Hendrickson's sire, was, as his father before him, imbued with patriotism and was captain of the largest company raised in the county in the war of 1812. Mr. Hendrickson was born on the homestead farm at Middletown in 1830. This farm had been in the possession of his ancestors for generations, and Mr. Hendrickson lived upon it all his life, he having added to its acreage. At eighteen years of age he took charge of the farm and conducted it in accordance with the progressive spirit of the age. In 1852 he married Miss Catherine L. Applegate, daughter of Joseph S. Applegate. he was a liberal supporter of the Middletown Baptist church, of which his wife was a member, but outside of the church many deserving poor will remember his non-ostentatious offerings to relieve the ruggedness of their lot in life. His funeral took place on Monday and was attended by a large number of prominent citizens from all parts of the county. Source: Red Bank Register Wednesday, December 21, 1887
