Read More	Orangeville Sun/Banner, February 2, 1911 - Death of Octogenarian Last week we briefly referred to the death of the late William Bennett, who passed away on Thursday morning, 26th ult. The late Mr. Bennett was born 83 years ago, on the farm on which he died, lot 2, con. 3, Mono, it having been the home of his parents. William Bennett was one of those who could tell of pioneer days and many an interesting anicdote he related of the crude implements used when he was a boy, and the work accomplished with them. Many an acre he plowed using a wooden plow-share after many days' rugged labor in felling the monarchial trees which everywhere studded the country. The family originally consisted of twelve members, but today only one of the dozen is left - our townsman, Mr. J. M. Bennett, who is the youngest of the family. The late Mr. Bennett was twice married; first to Miss Hannah McKim of Mono, who passed away about twenty-five years ago, and a few years afterwards he married Mrs. Paisley of this town who survives. He also leaves four sons and three daughters: Thomas of Amaranth, William, John and Edward of Mono, Mrs. William Kyle of Manor, Sask., Mrs. J. A. Campbell of Rivers, Man., and Miss Jennie at home. During his lifetime deceased accumulated considerable money and had in one stretch three hundred acres of land in Mono of which he bequeathed one hundred acres each to the three sons residing in that township. Mr. Bennett never knew an hour's sickness during his life and we might remark, incidentally, that he was an inveterate smoker. For the .........
