Description	:	WILLIAM KAHLER March 1951 Wiliam Kahler, 62, passed away suddenly Monday, March 26, at his home southwest of Colome, a heart attack being the immediate cause of death. Funeral servies were held Thuresday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Veteran's Memorial building at Colome, with Rev. Marvin Volkmann in charge of the services. Read More	WILLIAM KAHLER March 1951 Wiliam Kahler, 62, passed away suddenly Monday, March 26, at his home southwest of Colome, a heart attack being the immediate cause of death. Interment was made in the Colome Cemetery. Mr. Kahler, the son of Ferdinand and Louise Kahler , was born in Eigenfield, Russia, on Nov. 5, 1888. At the age of 20 he came to the United States and homesteaded the tract of land southwest of Colome where he made his home until his death. He was a veteran of World War 1, in which he served as a member of Company H, 9th Infantry, of the United States Army. Inducted on Sept.22, 1917. he sailed for overseas on June3, 1918.. He was wounded in action in France on Oct.3, 1918 and was sent back to the States on Jan. 1, 1919. After his discharge on Jan. 21, 1919, he came back to his homestead where he again took up farming. Two years later, on Feb. 27, 1921, he was united in marriage to Mary Brunsch. He and his wife became the parents of five children. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, having been bapized and confirmed in the faith in Russia. Surviving Mr. Kahler are his wife: three sons, Theodore of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada: Arthur and Harold of Colome: two daughters, Evelyn Boortz, Gregory , and Esther Matthews, Mitchell: six grandchildren: his aged mother, Mrs Louise Kahler, Colome: five brothers, Rudolph, Paul Chris, Reinhold and Theodore: and two sisters: Mrs Rudy Brezina and Mrs George Dean.
