Bruce was born in Helena, Sept. 10, 1966, and attended local schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school in 1985. Bruce was born in Helena, Sept. 10, 1966, and attended local schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school in 1985. He served his country proudly for 12 years and was aboard the USS Kitty Hawk during Operation Desert Storm. Bruce was employed at the Jade Garden at the time of his death. He had a kind and gentle spirit with a smile that could light up any room. Bruce loved animals, especially his two beloved Persian cats, Faye and Charlie Bear. He also had fish tanks where he raised fish for local pet stores. His family and friends will miss him. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Wheeldon; and grandparents William and Mary Zoe Stephenson and Ruth and Dee Marshall. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Colleen Stephenson; sister, DeeAnna Walker and Dustin Spatzierath; nephews, Tucker Walker and Jacob Marks; grandparents, Nick and Jean Vetsch; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and Vince Boster. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, April 14, at Retz Funeral Home in Helena. A reception will then follow at the Evangelical Covenant Church at 800 North Hoback Street. Memorials in Bruce's name are suggested to the Lewis & Clark Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455 Helena, Montana 59604.
