Gardner on 16 Jun 1909 and they had 3 children: Gardner C. Sellers, Elizabeth Ann Meyer and Orland F. "Cobb" Sellers. William, known as Billy attended the Downs schools and graduated from the Downs Business College. In 1923 he went into the grocery business, Sellers Grocery, and operated it until he retired in 1955. He was mayor of Downs for 2 terms beginning in 1943 and served many years on the city council. He also served on the school board for 15 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was church treasurer for 25 years. He was a charter member of the Downs Rotary Club. He joined the Downs Lodge No 329 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows on May 8, 1911. He was treasurer for more than 30 years. Billy and his wife Grace celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June of 1959.
