William was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II, where he served as an MP in the European Theatre of Operations. He was a retired home builder and general contractor, as well as a part owner of Ramseur Building Supply and Cloverdale Hams. He loved gardening, working on his farm, listening to Gospel music, and spending time with his family. William was a devoted worker at his church, always willing to help his church family and his neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Stout Cox, and his brother-in-law, William E. "Bill" Pate Survivors: wife, Mary "Maggie" Luck Cox, of the home, daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Johnson, and husband, Dickie, of Ramseur, son, William "Tim" Cox, of Ramseur, sister, Velma Pate, of Ramseur, grandchildren, Anna Cox, Max Cox, Blake Johnson, Kristin Johnson, and Danny Johnson, and wife Stepheni, great-grandchild, Macee Johnson. Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur.
