Description	:	William Boldt was the son of Fredrick Boldt and Fredricka Kopcke Boldt. Fredricka was born in Rudkwitz, Schwerin, Mecklenburg, Ger. William's parents were married in Ger. before 1870. They had one daughter Sophia born on Sept. 14, 1870 in Ger. At some point before June 24, 1874 Fredrick, Fredricka, and Sophia emigrated to the US and ended up in MI. where William was born. They had one daughter Sophia born on Sept. 14, 1870 in Ger. At some point before June 24, 1874 Fredrick, Fredricka, and Sophia emigrated to the US and ended up in MI. where William was born. The family then moved on to Lee Co., Ill. where Anna was born on Aug. 22, 1877. The family then moved on to Neb. where Lena E. was born in Feb. 1880 in Franklin Co. They had two more children Frank Carl b. Sept. 6, 1882 and Martha b. Jun. 1884. Both were born in Franklin Co., Neb. When Neb. did an 1885 census Fred and Fredricka were living in Kearney, Neb. and living with them was Carl b. 1820/21 and Sophia Boldt b. 1825/26. They were Fred's parents and most likely traveled with Fred when he came to this country. When William filled out his 1917/18 draft card he had one disability preventing him from being eligible from the draft. He had lost one eye in his younger years. William grew up to marry Ida Mae Goings b. Oct. 1873 in MO. They married on Apr. 29, 1896 in Harlan Co., Neb. and had 6 children before William's death. The first child was most likely born in 1897 and died at birth or at a young age. Wilfred Fredrick was the next child born to the couple. He was b. Aug. 8, 1898. Ethel M. was b. Jan. 21, 1900, Evelyn Beatrice was b. in 1904, Dorothy L. was b. Jun. 30, 1905 and August H. was born Nov. 15, 1908. The last census I found with the entire family was 1920 after that census the next census was in 1940 where the family was found again. By that time William was deceased and his youngest son was gone from the home. None of the children seem to have married except August, but I am unsure when he married. I have been unable to find a 1940 census with August in it. He had a daughter Ida Mae born in 1944. I found one daughter Dorothy L. buried in Minden Cemetery and William is buried there along with his wife. The children of William died in North Platte, Neb. and were most likely buried in the same cemetery as their parents. Wilfred d. Jan. 1967, Ethel d. Aug. 1974, Evelyn d. unk., Dorothy L. d. Feb. 24, 1985, and August d. Oct. 15, 1985. Ida Goings Boldt died in 1945 and was buried with her husband in Kearney Co., Neb. William's father Fred Boldt filed for a Declaration of Intention for Naturalization in Buffalo Co., Neb. on Sept. 19, 1879. He got Naturalization papers on Nov. 10, 1884 in Bloomington, Franklin Co., Neb. In 1880 the Boldts lived in Franklin Co., Neb. Three of the children, Sophia, William, and Anna attended school in a sod house in School Dist. #51 in Franklin Co. The family also lived in a sod house. When Fredricka died at her home in Franklin Co., Neb. the funeral was held in her home. The siblings of William married the following people. (1.) Sophia married 1st Carl Amman and when he died she married a widower Emil Sindt. Sophia had three children. She died Jan. 23, 1950 in Naponee, Franklin Co., Neb. (2.) Anna married George Henry Bahr on Nov. 6, 1898 in Van Horn, IA. She had three children. She passed away Aug. 2, 1975 in Tacoma, WA. and was buried in Kearney, Buffalo Co., Neb. (3.) Lena E. married Martin "Swede" Norberg and d. Feb. 22, 1956 (4.) Frank Carl married Dessie M. unk. and died Sept. 3, 1969 in Colo. Springs, El Paso Co., CO. and was buried in Crystal Valley Cem. and (5.) Martha married Alexander Silvrants and passed away after 1940 in Briggsdale, CO.
