He was born April 4, 1913 at Yakima to Esther (Kerivin) and Eli Draggoo. He graduated from the Omak High School in 1930 and attended the University of Washington and the University of Hawaii. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. He also worked for the Army Corp of Engineers in Alaska for several years. During WWII, he was in the 74th Battalion, Company B, Platoon I, United States CBs in the South Pacific, primarily in or near the Marshall Islands.... He was born April 4, 1913 at Yakima to Esther (Kerivin) and Eli Draggoo. He graduated from the Omak High School in 1930 and attended the University of Washington and the University of Hawaii. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. He also worked for the Army Corp of Engineers in Alaska for several years. During WWII, he was in the 74th Battalion, Company B, Platoon I, United States CBs in the South Pacific, primarily in or near the Marshall Islands. He got his honorable discharge September 30, 1945. After the war, for a short time he owned and operated Home Electric & Appliance at Manson. He was an electrician by trade and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 497. He worked on most of the hydro-electric projects on the Columbia River and several on the coast for Seattle Light. He married Edna Bonnell on January 1, 1948 at Heron Lake, MN. They made their home at Manson, Bridgeport and Wenatchee. He also was a member of the William Jet Lodge #285, F & AM and the First United Methodist Church of Wenatchee. Survivors include his wife Edna, three sons Robert of Federal Way, Richard of Tonasket and Ronald of East Wenatchee; eight grandchildren; three sisters Mrs. Herbert (Betty) Stokes of Kennewick, Mrs. Don (Pat) Griffin of East Wenatchee and Mrs. Maxine LaSac of East Wenatchee; a brother Victor Draggoo of Chelan. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at Betts Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Kel Groseclose will preside over the services. Interment will follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. child: Richard "Dick" B Draggoo b: 6 Dec 1950 d: 9 Jan 2001 Memorials in his name may be made to Respite Care at Grace Lutheran Church or the Health Options, or charity of your choice.
