Description	:	Wm. Crone was born in Dover, Morris County, N.J. May 7th, 1831 and died at Casey, IA, Dec. 16th, 79 years, 7 months and 9 days. In 1855 he moved to Iowa, locating in Wyoming, Jones Co., where he was united in marriage the 16th of the following October to Miss Helen A. Haight. They remained there 16 years, when they moved to Superior,... Read More	Wm. Crone was born in Dover, Morris County, N.J. May 7th, 1831 and died at Casey, IA, Dec. 16th, 79 years, 7 months and 9 days. In 1855 he moved to Iowa, locating in Wyoming, Jones Co., where he was united in marriage the 16th of the following October to Miss Helen A. Haight. Of this union six children were born, two of whom, Walter of Casey, IA and Frank of Idaho, survive his deceased. In 1878 they left Iowa, coming to Jewell County Kansas. They remained there 16 years, when they moved to Superior, where they resided until the September of this year, going then to Casey, Iowa, that they might be near one of their children. In 1862 he responded to the call of country and enlisted in the 24th Iowa Volunteer Infantry serving until honorably discharged at the close of the war. Fifty-four years ago he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church of which he has been a faithful member until the time of his death. A patriotic citizen, a helpful friend, a loving husband and father, a consistent Christian. What words can give higher eulogy. The funeral service was held in the Methodist Church, Tuesday morning conducted by the pastor, and the body laid to rest in the city cemetery by his old comrades of G.A.R. with their beautiful and impressive burial service.
