Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. B.F. Lively, and the remains were interred in Bluff Cemetery. Deceased was 73 years of age And a few years ago come to this section from the north. He was a member of the Christian Church and an old Federal soldier. A more extended notice will be printed next week. The Springdale News Springdale, AR December 13, 1912 William D. Mitchell, son of Benjamin and Burnetta Beadles Mitchell, was born Sept. 12, 1839 in Johnson County, Ind. He was one of 11 children, of whom the eldest, Mrs. M.E. Turner of Woodstock, Ill. Is yet living. He enlisted in the Federal service Aug. 14, 1862 and was mustered out June 7, 1865. On June 20, 1861 he was married to Miss Delphia Shoemarker of Edenburg, Johnson County, Ind. After his service in the army Mr. Mitchell moved with his wife to Pamona, Guthrie County, Iowa. In the spring of 1869 they moved to Independence, Kansas; later they went to Jasper Co., Mo. After residing there a number of years the Health of Mrs. Mitchell became very bad And they moved about from place to place Seeking the restoration of her health. Lake City, Iowa, Franklin, Ind. and Glendon, Col. Being among the places at which they resided. In May 1907 they came to Springdale where Mrs. Mitchell departed this life June 10, 1911. Mr. Mitchell bought a small farm out near Zion Church and moved onto it last September. He had been in poor health for some time, especially since his wife's death, which was a severe blow to his declining strength, and a few weeks ago while working on the place he received an injury which hastened the end. His brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Mitchell, came from Nebraska just in time to be with him during his last sickness. He was a life-long member of the Christian Church. {A care of thinks for their brother Is signed Mr. and Mrs. T.P. Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Jones.
