Description | : | William Decker was born April 23, 1823...the 8th and youngest child of Moses and Christina (Harness) Decker. He was raised on his parents' farm in Pike County that they established in the early 1830s. He went on to have 10 children of his own. In 1854, William married his neighbors daughter, Clarissa Whitten, who had lived with the Deckers for some time...possibly since the death of her mother which occurred between 1838 and 1943.
