He was the son of James W. and Mabala Jane Landen and was born in Brown County, Ohio, July 25, 1868. He was a resident of Wapello County and Ottumwa for the past 55 years. Landen, 78, of 719 Gladstone St., died at his home at 12:05 AM today. He was the son of James W. and Mabala Jane Landen and was born in Brown County, Ohio, July 25, 1868. He was a resident of Wapello County and Ottumwa for the past 55 years. He is a member of The Finley Ave., Baptist Church. He was married to Ida Mae Huffman, September 29, 1892 surviving are his wife, one son James H. Landen of Ottumwa; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Broad of Buffalo, New York; Mrs. Leona Walls of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Maude Knecht of Ottumwa; three grandchildren one brother, Albert Landen of Springdale Arkansas; three sisters, Mrs. Fanny Houk of DeRidder, Louisiana; Mrs. Ella Huff of Floris; Mrs. Lula Miller of Ottumwa. Preceding him in death were his one daughter, Molly his parents and one brother, Walter Landen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:30 PM at the Johnson funeral Chapel in charge of the Rev. Luther Childs of Centerville. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Landen, Harvey Landen, Clarence Meredith, Harold Rice, Lloyd Hollingsworth and Earl Houk.
