He departed this life on Saturday, May 30, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska, at the age of 55 years and 25 days. Bill attended Nelson Public Schools. He departed this life on Saturday, May 30, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska, at the age of 55 years and 25 days. Bill attended Nelson Public Schools. He then served in the U.S. Army. He farmed for a while in the Nelson area and had worked for the Nuckolls County Department of Roads. March 17, 1974, at Nelson, Nebraska, Bill married Marie Evans. He had been employed by Monfort Inc. in Grand Island for 12 years at the time of his death. He also had worked part time for Kart and Cycle since 1981. Preceding him in death were his mother; a son, Tony Ray Evans; and an infant granddaughter, Asley Ann. Survivors include his wife, June Marie Stichka of Grand Island, Nebraska; his father, Ed Stichka of Nelson, Nebraska; three sons, Ken Evans of Phoenix, Arizona, Chuck Evans of Greeley, Colorado, and Mike Evans of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Bev Sole of Nelson, Nebraska, Francis Spratt of Mims, Florida, and Helen Iliff of Superior, Nebraska; four grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Rev. Ralph Sturdy officiating. Burial was in Nelson Cemetery.
