Description	:	William Parr Marengo-William Edward Parr, 64, Marengo, died Friday, January 5, 1990, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Born April 30, 1925, in Van Horne, he was the son of Simon and Vera Mary Schmuecker Parr. He married Ruth Armentrout in West Des Moines September 7, 1953. A farmer in the Blairstown area, Mr. Parr was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Blairstown, and the Knights of Columbus. He graduated from school in Blairstown. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald, and his parents. Funeral services were held at St. John's Catholic Church, Blairstown, Monday, January 8, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dick Ament, officiating. Burial was at St. Patrick and St. Paul Cemetery, Watkins. Memorials may be made to the family. Russell Funeral Home, Blairstown, in charge of the arrangements.
