ALLBRIGHT,” From “Ottumwa Courier,” September 18, 1954: William Edwin Allbright, 68, of 511 West Main street, died suddenly about noon Friday following a heart attack. He had been in ill health for some time. The son of David C. and Lestina Allbright, he was born February 9, 1886, at Pulaski. He was a retired John Morrell & Co. Employe and was a member of UPWA-CIO, local No. 1. Surviving are his wife, Maude; his mother, Mrs. D.C. Allbright of Ottumwa; three sons, William D. and Roy H. Allbright of Ottumwa and Henry J. Allbright of Pawnee City, Neb.; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Snelling and Mrs. Donna Tanner of Ottumwa; five sisters, Mrs. Grace Davis of Ottumwa and Mrs. Blanche Dillon, Mrs. Garnet Davis, Mrs. Helen Cook and Mrs. Mildred Peel, all of California; three brothers, George and Carl Allbright and Des Moines and Harlan Allbright of Denver, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida May Eaton Allbright in 1936, four sons and one daughter. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. John Lanifer. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
