He was born in Putnam County, Mo., March 1, 1873, and was the son of Thomas H. and Ellen Haney Lewis. He was married to Jessie Olive Probasco Dec. 28, 1897, who preceded him in death Sept. 11, 1961. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Cincinnati Christian Church with Rev. Howard Hanson officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. He was a long-time resident of Cincinnati. Lewis was born in Putnam county March 1, 1873, and was 89 years, nine months and 13 days of age. He was married to Jessie Probasco in December, 1897, and the following children survive: Ernest of Centerville, Earl of Marshalltown, Troy Orval and Mrs. Ellen Pickett of Unionville, Mo., and Mrs. Lola Hall of Marshalltown. Funeral service for Mr. Lewis was held at the West Christian church Sunday afternoon with Howard Hanson officiating. Mrs. Mabel Huffman and Mrs. Mary Corder sang appropriate hymns. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mrs. Lewis preceded him in death in 1961. He has 25 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
