(Red) Lewis, 68, resident of 802 S. 17th street, Centerville, passed away very suddenly while at his work Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. Death was attributed to a heart attack. (Red) Lewis, 68, resident of 802 S. 17th street, Centerville, passed away very suddenly while at his work Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born April 12, 1899 in Putnam County, Mo., he was the son of William E. and Jessie Probasco Lewis. On Sept. 20, 1919, he married Lulu (Lula) Jane Davis in Unionville, Mo., who survives his passing. He was an active member of the West Pleasant Street Christian church in Cincinnati. Mr. Lewis had farmed near Cincinnati until 13 years ago. Since moving to Centerville, he had been employed by Watson Floral Co., O.K. Furniture store and Sherman Furniture. His father and mother and a 15-year-old son, Earnest, Jr., preceded him in death. Survivors besides his widow include a son, Leland L. Lewis of Ottumwa, two daughters, Mrs. Leoma Duley of Moulton and Mrs. Carol Gott of Davenport; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Lewis of Marshalltown, Iowa and Troy Lewis of Unionville, Mo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Pickett of Mendota, Mo. and Mrs. Lola Hall of Beaman, Iowa. The body is at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the West Pleasant Street Christian Church in Cincinnati, with Rev. Earl Stark of Clarence, Mo., officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Funeral was Friday from West Christian church with Earl Starke of Clarence, Mo., officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
