Description	:	William Messmore, Jr., of near Hobbs, son of William S. Messmore, died Saturday morning at 6:30 o'clock at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis. His death was due to complications following an operation for appendicitis performed at the hospital Tuesday afternoon. The young man was taken to the hospital Tuesday after having taken seriously ill Saturday afternoon. His death was due to complications following an operation for appendicitis performed at the hospital Tuesday afternoon. The young man was taken to the hospital Tuesday after having taken seriously ill Saturday afternoon. The body was brought to the home of his father near Hobbs, Saturday noon in the Leatherman ambulance and funeral arrangements will be completed later. The news of the death of William Jr. was a shock to the entire community, although all knew his condition had been critical almost from the first. He was one of the fine and promising young men of the community and was a junior in the Tipton high school, where he had applied himself faithfully to his studies. His illness began more than two weeks ago when he was prevented from taking his final exams in the school and had been much worried over it and had arranged at that time with his teachers to take the work when he was able. He was eighteen years of age, August 16th, 1926, and was the son of william S. and Libbie (Wineman) Messmore, his mother having been deceased sixteen years. Her death took place when he was a baby little more than two years old. He is survived by his father, two sisters, Mrs. Ward Ginn of Anderson and Miss Luella Messmore, who makes her home with her grandfather, C.F. Messmore on North Independence street, and a half sister, Miss Mary Messmore at home. The grandfather and several aunts and uncles and other relatives and a very large circle of friends also survive. His untimely death is a loss to the whole community.
